Our Commitment to the Quality of Life
In funding research to find a cure for arthritis, the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lead the way. Since the inception of the arthritis program by the Order, over $4,200,000 dollars has been raised to combat arthritis.
There has been tremendous progress in certain areas of arthritis research that is leading many scientists to believe that a major breakthrough is very close for some forms of arthritis, including the way to stop the disease progress of rheumatoid arthritis, which affects more than two million Americans and Canadians. Research must be continued to find this cure!
The Arthritis Foundation of the United States and the Arthritis Society of Canada is the source of help and hope for millions of North Americans who have arthritis. They support research to find cures for and the prevention’s of arthritis diseases, and seek to improve the quality of life for those affected by arthritis. Since 1948, the Foundation and society are the only voluntary health organizations that work for all people affected by any one of the more than 100 forms of arthritis or related diseases. Volunteers in Society offices across Canada and in the Foundation offices throughout the United States help to support research, professional and community education programs, services for people with arthritis, government advocacy and fund raising.
Here are ways that you can assist in fund raising in your community:
5K Runs, 5K Walks, fitness walks, Rock-A-Thons, Jingle Bell Runs, community suppers, weigh ins, garage sales, flea markets, car washes, raffles and mini grand prizes are only a few ways you can raise funds for your charitable donations to this worthy cause.
