Planting trees has been advocated by scientists for years due to the ability of trees to absorb carbon dioxide, store the carbon portion and then release the remainder as oxygen.  Man’s best environmental cleaner as long as air pollution continues is Tree Planting!

‘Plant a Tree for One Who Comes After Me’

Suggested Projects:
Arrange with your sponsoring group the purchase of trees, when with your Lodge, Club or Group, do the planting.  This can be designated your Community Service Project.
Contact your local and state governments, libraries, schools, hospitals and churches. Landscaping and tree replacements are usually most welcome.
Planting a tree in a special location as a lasting memorial.
Larger timber companies in some areas participate with the local schools and furnish seedlings for students to plant.
Poster and essay contests among students, with prizes for winners, help to make the young students more aware of their environment.
Most cities and communities have a park that needs cleaning and restoring, this makes a great project for a group.
Arrange for your local radio, newspaper and/or television station to report your planting in their media.
